This is the one that stays on. The cleanser and the toner come off; the gel is applied after cleansing, morning or evening, and left there.

The data sheet is blunt about the trade-off: do not apply it before going out in the sun, because it is photosensitising, and use SPF 30 or 50 while you are using it. That is not fine print — it is the reason a sunscreen belongs in this routine at all.

Two more limits worth knowing before you buy: it is not for anyone with a known sensitivity to salicylates, and products with salicylic acid are not used on children under three.

How to use it

Apply to the face in the morning and/or evening, after cleansing. It stays on the skin.

Worth knowing before you buy

  • Do not apply before sun exposure — it is photosensitising. While you are using it, wear a high-protection sunscreen (SPF 30 or 50).
  • Not for anyone with a known sensitivity to salicylates.
  • Products containing salicylic acid are not used on children under three.
  • If it gets in the eyes, rinse thoroughly and seek medical advice if needed.
